Hey guys n gals,

Orkut- The largest n most popular social networking site which looks very colorful with loads of new people waiting to become your friend ... scraps, communities, photos, videos, and a lot more.. it is the best way to connect to the young crowd of today .. i personally have met many of my long lost friends on orkut whom i might have otherwise never met.

But before we are ready to meet new people n become an active member of this Network
a few security tips i personally feel we can follow :
very simple but very useful just to keep yourself on the safer side
1) NEVER mention your personal information like cell phone numbers, residential or office addresses in scraps n also respect others privacy. Dont share your friends' personal information. Instead you could send an email to the other person with the same information. A little trouble..But better than regretting later.
2) Always lock your photos, videos. Who knows where your photos are being used. I personally follow it. Its your choice though.
To lock your photos/videos,
click on settings on the left hand side of your profile,
click on the "privacy" tab
and go to the section, "allow content to be viewed by:"
and edit the privacy settings as per your requirements

3) Keep your password alpha numeric n never share your passwords.

Also when you want others to respect your privacy , others also expect the same from you.
Never post information about others which they may not appreciate
and also DO NOT post vulgar pics or scraps on some one else's profile.


But after all said and done, ORKUT still remains everyone's favorite, including me,
